Mad Crush

Signing at The Book Loft

book_loftFor a first-time author, signing books at a bookstore is a pretty cool (and somewhat surreal) experience, as I found out yesterday at The Book Loft in Solvang.

Kathy, Tom and the entire gang at The Book Loft were gracious and supportive. I even got to cross paths with another local author, Daniel McNeet, who wrote a book called Operation Downfall.

The Book Loft is an amazing place, and I encourage you to check it out if you’re ever in the Santa Ynez Valley, in the heart of the Santa Barbara County wine country. It’s one of those increasingly rare species: a robust store wondrously stocked with physical books, all obviously selected and shelved with care. And if you go upstairs, you’ll find an immaculate selection of used books, too.

It was awesome not only to experience the store, but to see the droves of customers coming through the door. Long live print and its bastions like The Book Loft!
